Paleo Asian Garlic Steak Skewers

In my house, the kids LOVE steak. Whenever we ask for their input on what to make for dinner, their answer is always steak. Now, I’m totally okay with that, but sometimes, the same foods can get a bit boring. These Paleo Asian Garlic Steak Skewers, however, are anything but boring.

Marinate, marinate, marinate!

In my humble opinion, the secret to getting these to turn out well is to marinate them. This allows them time to really soak up the flavor, and helps them to stay tender while you cook. It also allows me the opportunity to do things in stages, which is so helpful with the kids. I can make the marinade after the school drop-offs are done, then pop them onto the skewers before homework starts.  That way, I’m ahead of the game when it’s time to actually cook.

Busting with flavor, and cooked to tender perfection, these paleo Asian Garlic Steak Skewers are sure to be a family favorite!

Cooking Options

I love to have options for how to cook things. With these Paleo Asian Garlic Steak Skewers feel free to cook them on a grill, or on the stove. For cooking on the stove, you can either leave them off the skewers and cook them in a cast iron pan or use one of these grill pans. If you do choose to grill them, however, make sure you soak the skewers in some water for about 20 minutes before you assemble them. This helps prevent the wooden skewers from burning.

  • Apparently purple bell peppers exist! I was excited when my husband found this plant at @homedepot, and I’m even more excited that I haven’t killed it yet! 🎉 This will be a great way to help us eat the rainbow!
  • “I want to be strong like my mom.” That’s what my oldest told her gymnastics coach on the first day of lessons. Working out is as much for them as it for me. It makes me stronger, healthier, more patient, more energetic. It sets the right example for them. They see what a body is capable of. They see that women are strong. They see what hard work looks like. Yes, I do it for me, but I do it for them, too, and apparently, they are getting it. 🏋🏼‍♀️🤸‍♂️
  • I wanted salad for dinner tonight, so I made salmon burgers, topped with a mango salsa. I had mine on a pile of arugula and spinach and the rest of the family had theirs on buns. 😉Win-win
  • Woo-hoo!
  • Props to all of those ladies that can workout and still look cute. I am not one of them. 😂🤣Also, @erinoprea might be trying to kill me with her do anywhere workouts. 😂🤣😂🤣You should give them a try.
  • Finally some sunshine 🌞
  • Healthy doesn’t have to be complicated. Chicken sausage, sweet potatoes, bell peppers and broccoli (the peppers and broccoli I cut up yesterday for the kid’s veggie tray) on a sheet pan. Drizzle with avocado oil, sprinkle with salt, pepper, oregano, and some basil. Cook at 400 degrees for 20 minutes and you’re good to go.
  • Easy chicken stir fry for dinner tonight! I used chicken, veggies that I prepped earlier in the week for the kids’ veggie tray and the Stir Fry Sauce from @nomnompaleo. I can’t use orange just though, because it’s bad for my interstitial cystitis, so I used the juice from one of my kid’s juice boxes.... adapt and overcome, right?
  • Yesterday was a struggle with my health. I wanted to work out, but I knew that my body needed rest. It’s okay to rest. It’s okay to recover.
  • My three year old made me this crown and insists that I wear it all the time. She says it’s because I’m the Queen. 👸🏼👸🏼💁🏼‍♀️Clearly, she gets it.... 😂🤣
  • This week has been a rough one. The negative nancies were out in full force, but at the end of the day, their negativity has nothing to do with me, and everything to do with their own struggles. All I can do is offer kindness is return and keep doing what works for me. 🤷🏼‍♀️
  • There’s a 💯 percent chance that I would have completely forgotten that today was cinco de Mayo had I not gotten an email from @nomnompaleo today linking me to this recipe for Instant Pot Carnitas. So, clearly, I had to make it, and it’s SOOOOOO yummy! 😉
