Snacks to Make

I have mentioned before that I love Danielle Walker’s blog. She has kids of her own, and so she knows what it’s like. As mothers, we want to do the best we can to feed our kids delicious meals, but we don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen preparing meals that our kids may or may not like. My kids have enjoyed everything that I make from her recipes, especially the snacks. Their favorites are the handmade fruit by the foot, which I make with whatever fruit we have on hand, and the Not-a-grain Bars. We also enjoy the Crock-Pot Applesauce, and the Pumpkin Pie Pepitas, both of which are great options if your kiddos end up in a nut-free classroom.

Another fantastic allergy-free option is these Paleo Cheese Crackers from Predominately Paleo. My kids also love these plantain chips, and of course fresh fruits and veggies, and while they aren’t paleo, I often send them cubes of cheese or string cheese.

Snacks to Purchase

Back to school time can be crazy busy. We have doctors appointments, dentist appointments, optometrist appointments, open houses, along with the regular day to day activities. While I would love to be able to make everything that my kids eat, sometimes, I buy snacks. Here are a few of the healthy, and delicious options that my kids enjoy.

Simple Mills Almond Flour Crackers – My local grocery store has these at a much better price than this, so make sure you check prices.

Lesser Evil Paleo Puffs These are a great nut-free option, too.

Mission Meats Sugar-Free Beef Sticks – I will often send these with a string cheese, which isn’t paleo, but the kids like it.

Paleonola These aren’t a nut-free option, but my kids enjoy these.

Steve’s PaleoGoods Dried Fruit I do limit how often my kids eat dried fruit. I do this because their dentist said it can get stuck in their teeth and cause cavities. When I do let them enjoy it, I try to stick with these because they don’t have added sugar.

  • Salads are my favorite lunch.

  • I’ve been starting my mornings by adding two scoops of collagen to my coffee every morning. It has tons of body and beauty benefits. ☕️☕️☕️
  • Real talk: my kids are one today. They had the house trashed by 8 this morning. Luckily for me, these Blueberry Crumb Bars from @lexiscleankitchen just came out of the oven.
So, I’m going to sit on my backside on the couch and enjoy a slice while those little monsters clean their room. 😉And I don’t feel the least bit of guilt about it.
  • Usually, the tiny humans are the only things I can keep alive but I’m doing pretty well with the container garden this year. 🎉
  • I stole this little gem from @belleandbell. In case someone else needs to read it. 😉
  • Apparently purple bell peppers exist! I was excited when my husband found this plant at @homedepot, and I’m even more excited that I haven’t killed it yet! 🎉 This will be a great way to help us eat the rainbow!
  • “I want to be strong like my mom.” That’s what my oldest told her gymnastics coach on the first day of lessons. Working out is as much for them as it for me. It makes me stronger, healthier, more patient, more energetic. It sets the right example for them. They see what a body is capable of. They see that women are strong. They see what hard work looks like. Yes, I do it for me, but I do it for them, too, and apparently, they are getting it. 🏋🏼‍♀️🤸‍♂️
  • I wanted salad for dinner tonight, so I made salmon burgers, topped with a mango salsa. I had mine on a pile of arugula and spinach and the rest of the family had theirs on buns. 😉Win-win
  • Woo-hoo!
  • Props to all of those ladies that can workout and still look cute. I am not one of them. 😂🤣Also, @erinoprea might be trying to kill me with her do anywhere workouts. 😂🤣😂🤣You should give them a try.
  • Finally some sunshine 🌞
